For some people that have an inactive lifestyle, they find it hard to play golf for the first time – especially if they walk the whole’-holes. Still, if you have been playing golf for some time you are perhaps in much better physical shape, but your golf game will be greatly determined by your level of physical fitness. Those that are in great shape physically, in terms of strength, flexibility and stamina, you will be able to play a lot better game than someone who is in an inferior physical shape.

Muscle Mass and Your Flexibility

When you are working on your strength you need to also be working on your flexibility in order to have the best overall physical condition possible to play better golf. Aim to build lean muscle, rather than bulky muscle. The primary difference is the level of flexibility that the muscles can provide. Bulky muscles are apt to be stronger than lean muscles, but they are not as flexible. This will greatly hamper your ability to turn properly while you swing the club.

Lean Muscles are More Suited to Golf

Many people who are working on building muscle strength tend to build a lot of muscle mass. This is typically because they are lifting weights that are too heavy. To build lean muscles you must do more repetitions of lighter weights. This will improve your muscle strength, while building the lean and slender muscles that are better for your overall golf game.

Warm Up Before Playing Golf

You need to improve your body’s level of flexibility as much as possible. This means you need to perform a pre-game warm-up; by stretching before each round you will be ready to swing your club on the first tee without risking a pulled muscle. If you find that you are sore after a game it was probably because you didn’t stretch. Five minutes of stretching before and after a game of golf will ensure that you are able to play golf without any trouble or injuries.

Walk Instead of Riding a Golf Cart

For those that have been playing golf for some time but have been riding around the course on a golf cart, then you should think about walking instead. For the first time that you walk the golf course, you could start out by walking a few holes and vary some holes by getting in the cart (presuming you have some golf buddies that can take turns driving the cart for you.) Steadily raise the number of holes that you walk each round until you can easily walk the full golf course without exertion.

All it takes to improve your golf game a lot is a well thought out and implemented golf exercise schedule. If you want to play golf to the next level, you will need to increase your physical fitness levels and your flexibility. You will be surprised at the benefits that it provides to your healthiness as well as your general golf swing.

If you are fit for golf that is good but you also need a consistent swing. That is easily accomplished with The Simple Swing taught by a true Golf Swing Guru that I have been using since my back surgery.
